A Balanced Life is Possible!

You are exhausted after a strenuous day of deadlines and ringing phones. All you want is a bit of peace and a hot meal (maybe served with a side of aspirin), but there's still a work-related project that must be finished before you crawl to bed that evening. As soon as you arrive at your front door, you are greeted by two crying children, an equally exhausted significant other, and a surly cat ... Does this sound familiar?

Change Management Toolbook

In this Toolbook for Change Management, Holger Nauheimer offers you a broad range of methods and strategies which you can apply during different stages of personal and organizational development. In its core, the Toolbook is based on the concept of "Learning Organizations", which was mainly introduced by Peter Senge of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and it is strongly influenced by the work of Robert Dilts, who teaches Neurolinguistic Programming at the University of California. To compile this toolbook, Holger Nauheimer consulted and cited many books on Organizational Development. He added a few tools that he developed himself.
The Toolbook starts with an introduction to the idea of change management. After that, you will find hyperlinks that lead you to the different sections and straight into the exercises.

eBook: Transforming e-Knowledge
|
| Topic Owner: |
Gunnar Bruckner
|
|
online version of a book by Donald Norris, Jon Mason, and Paul Lefrere
From the introduction
We begin with a simple vision: in the Knowledge Economy, those individuals and enterprises that share and process their knowledge effectively have a great advantage.
To succeed in the Knowledge Economy, most of us will need an order-of-magnitude leap in our ability to create, acquire, assimilate, and share knowledge. Even the manner in which we experience knowledge will be transformed, through technologies and practices that exist today or will soon be available. Between now and the year 2010, best practices in knowledge sharing will be substantially reinvented in all settings—education, corporations, government, and associations and non-profits. That is our vision.
This transformation is underway today. We provide examples of leading-edge enterprises that are currently using e-knowledge to achieve significant savings in the time, cost, and effectiveness of deploying and sharing knowledge. And vignettes and projections of best practices in the future that will use e-knowledge to build and sustain competitive advantage relative to historic market leaders in all fields.
This book traces the three primary indicators of e-knowledge transformation: 1) Internet technologies, interoperability standards, and emerging e-knowledge repositories and marketplaces; 2) enterprise infrastructures, processes, and knowledge cultures; and 3) cascading cycles of reinvention of best practices, business models and strategies for e-knowledge.
It concludes with practical, “how-to” guidance on accelerating your enterprise’s readiness for e-knowledge in order to mobilize leaders and practitioners around the concept of e-knowledge, and develop an enterprise knowledge strategy explicitly driving business plans.

Its development is the result of a consultation and exchange process between the emergency and disaster programs of World Health Organization (WHO) and he Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), with the participation of all WHO technical departments as well as other UN agencies, such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR); ICRC; the SPHERE Project; non-governmental organizations such as OXFAM; and national organizations, such as the National Emergency Commission of Costa Rica, and WHO collaborating centers such as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC-Atlanta), the Center for Research in the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED-Bruxelles) and academic institutions like Tulane University. Thanks to this joint effort, more than 300 technical-scientific documents on disaster reduction and public health issues related to emergencies and humanitarian assistance form the basis for this electronic collection.

Paragon Learning Style Inventory
|
| Topic Owner: |
Gunnar Bruckner
|
|
The Paragon Learning Style Inventory (PLSI) is a 52 item self-administered survey that provides a very reliable indication of learning style and cognitive preference. It uses the four Jungian dimensions (i.e, introversion/ extroversion, intuition/sensation, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving) that are also used by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Murphy Meisgeir Type Indicator, and the Keirsey-Bates Temperament Sorter. But this is the only instrument that can be self-scored and works with ages 9-adult.
All the supporting documentation is on the website AND in the library of this topic for downloading.

Stir the Pot

I set one up, incorrectly in the general forum now I am trying it here.
Our group reworked our question to be, 'How do we stir the pot so that we facilitate love, nuturing, growth and commitment that grows the communities and the city?'
We decided the best bet was to go to the grass roots of all communities and ask the following two questions:
1. Does it matter?
2. What are the consequences?
We then talked about the fact that we would need to determine other questions that dig deeper and lead to answers for the above questions.
We need to figure out what these questions will be and who and how many people we will ask these questions.
Thoughts?
